Flute concert by Maestro Andrea Griminelli organised

LEH: The Minister for Tourism and Culture Jammu & Kashmir, G.A Mir attended a flute concert by Maestro Andrea Griminelli with Emanuele Segre on the guitar accompanied by Ladakh musicians, as Chief Guest at Stok Palace, Leh on Saturday. Daniele Mancini, Ambassador Italy, H.R.H, Jigmat Wangchuk Namgial the King of Stok Palace, with Queen, mother-Diskit Wangmo, Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar, CEO Go Air and many other Royal Guests both from the country and abroad were present on the occasion.


His Excellency the Ambassador Italy, in his speech welcomed the Tourism Minister J and K and other participants mentioning that arrangement of such a Western and Eastern mixed flute concert in a Global village and especially at the Royal Stok Palace in Leh is a unique one and requested to organise such programme in the future also. 

 

On 21st July, the Minister for Tourism and Culture visited Mahabodhi Centre Choglamsar where he was very much pleased to see the medical facilities, educational facilities, old age home facilities, blind home, meditation and many other programmes related to the welfare of needy people.

President Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Ven. Sanghasena requested the Minister for Tourism to participate in the 2nd International Festival of Buddhist Heritage of Ladakh scheduled for 15th to 18th September, 2013, which the minister agreed in principle.

The minister also agreed to support for a new project of MIMC. The Minister expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided by the Mahabodhi Society to the people of Ladakh saying that Mahabodhi has been doing a great job in the region mainly for the welfare of the needy and downtrodden section.
