Khilanmarg is situated at a distance of 4 km from the Gulmarg bus stop. Tourists can easily reach this place by walking across the meadows of the valley. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the valley is scattered with wild flowers in the spring season. Tourists can enjoy the panoramic views of the Nanga Parbat, the Himalayas, and the twin peaks of Nun and Kun. Several scenic tourist spots are located in proximity to Khilanmarg.
Best Time to visit
The best time to visit Khilanmarg for sightseeing is between May and September and the best time for skiing and other winter sports is from November to February. Monsoons in Khilanmarg are during the months of July, August and September. These three months will experience good rainfall, and snowfall may also occur during the peak winter months in Khilanmarg. This is a very good time to visit Khilanmarg, as temperatures will be low. The minimum temperature will fall during the nights and reach a low point of around five degrees (5°C). Carrying light woollen clothing during the summer is thus necessary.
